Extension Employee Onboarding Modules

The Western Program and Organizational Leadership Committee (WPOLC), developed online resources for new employees that cover many areas central to Extension work such as history of Extension, being accountable to our funders, needs assessment, program assessment & evaluation, documenting and sharing impacts, adult education, Extension scholarship etc. These resources have elements that are common across the west and will complement each institution’s efforts in providing a strategic orientation for new (and even seasoned) Extension educators.

New Dean/Director Orientation

The Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) has provided links to the three parts of a pre-workshop webinar held on 12/5/17. Extension Directors and Administrators are encouraged to use the videos to learn more about the history of Land-Grant Universities, and the roles of two primary partners–The National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA), and APLU.

National Leadership 101 Recording and Slides

On September 9, 2022, 26 Extension Directors joined ECOP’s latest monthly Friday Zoom event. All 5 regions and the 1994 Tribal Universities participated in the Learning for Leaders Program developed by the ECOP Professional Development Committee. To share and experience the 45-minute session, which included a presentation by Brent Elrond, USDA-NIFA and Doug Steele, APLU use https://youtu.be.MuwwSxu_kMc.
